‚ÄčApplication forms for admission may be obtained from the colleges on payment of Rs 250/- by cash or Rs 250/- by DD drawn in favour of Ocean College of Nursing, alomg with a self addressed stamped envelope for the value of Rs 10/-.

The candidates are asked to read the prospectus before filling up the application. The details in the Application form must be filled carefully in block letters in english and in the candidates own handwriting. No column should be left unfilled, no overwriting, additions or deleting are permitted. If any of the particulars are found to be fraudulent, the candidate will be summarily dismissed and crminal action will be instituted against him/her.

Each course must have a separate application form. And the completed application form shall be sent to the college along with xerox (photostat) copies of relevant documents.

Rules and Regulations

Attendnace, Progress & Conduct Each student must have a certificate of satisfactory attendance, progress and conduct from the principal of the respective college of examinations. A prescribed % of attendance is must in theory and practical separately in each subject.

A minimum of 80% attendance is required in theory and practical classes respectively.

Attendance of 10% may be condoned by the Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the principal based on genuinity of the case.

Internal Assesment There shall be internal assessment which follows the principles laid by the college and university in each subject in theory and practicals separately for which prescribed % of marks are set apart and that will be added to the final marks in the University / Board examination.

As per the University guidelines 20% of the marks are set for Internal Assessment which are considered for the evaluation during the final University examination. Every year a minimum of two assignment and three periodical tests are conducted for each subject to assess the performance of the candidate.

Declaration of Result: Criteria for Pass

Main Subject: A candidate is declared to have passed the examination in a subject, if she/he secures 50% of the marks in theory and 50% in Practical separately. For a pass in theory a candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the University conducted written examination and 50% aggregate, i.e., marks scored in the University conducted written examination and assessment (theory) added together and for a pass in Practical, a candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% of the marks in University conducted Practical examination and Internal Assessment (Practical) added together.

Subsidiary Subjects: The examination for subsidiary subjects shall be conducted by the respective colleges. For a pass in the subsidiary a candidate shall secure 35% of the total marks prescribed for the subjects and has to pass all the subsidiary subjects before appearing for the final year University exams.

Tele Medicine: Training for Tele Medicine is conducted for three months which is included in the nursing curriculum. Separate certificates are issued.

Conduct & Discipline Students are required to maintain ethical and professional standards. Students should make every effort to take care of teh college, hostel and hospital property. Students are required to follow the rules and regulations laid by the hospital, hostel and college / school authority. The authority has all the rights to take decision of suspension, dismissal of any student whose behaviour and conduct is found to be not satisfactory in and outside the college campus.

Voluntary withdrawal Students who voluntarily withdraw from the College / school shall be required to pay the full fees for the entire programme. The fees already paid will not be refunded.
